You must hear Spook's story

Oh my goodness, I completely forgot to share spooks story with you so will put that right now.

Spook is a beautiful grey cat with a white ring round his tail and is about sixteen years old. He is very aloof and hates being picked up or cuddled and used to remain in the background all the time.

Now don't get me wrong, when I was adopted I was not fond of cats so Spooks aloofness suited me fine.  Whenever mom was not looking I used to give him a sly kick which would make him hiss which then earned him a telling off as my kick had not been noticed. Later I got a bit blase about it and got caught so now the parents watch me more carefully!!

Anyway, Spook used to belong to a previous girlfriend of Dad's and was so huge he could not even manage to jump on a chair!! If he miaowed he was given food non stop. Even then he was not friendly.

His owner and Daddy parted company and she decided to go back to south America to be closer to family and left Spook behind. Daddy found out and quickly drove to her old house with a friend to rescue Spook.

When Tucker joined our family, Spook surprised everyone by strolling out of the bedroom and walking up to Tucker introduced himself nose to nose . Tuck loves Spook and checks on him before bed each night..he won't settle until he knows where spook is.

Mom has been working on him and he has slimmed down and can now jump on counters and clear the stable doors into kitchen and hallway. He has taken it upon himself to teach the kitten to jump them too, however try as he might simba still crashes in to the top so can spook has decided to spend each night teaching him  while we try to sleep...crash...crash...crash grrr
Each morning spook jumps on the bed, looks back at the kitten then at Dad...."the boy is an idiot dad" then settles down for a day of snoozing!

Mom caught him the other day shyly playing with one of the kittens toys with a look of wonderment on his face. There is hope for him yet !!

Show and Tell..Ellie style!

Greetings All,

The boys have been showing Mom how clever they are at fetching tennis balls that have been thrown in the yard.

Mom tried to include me but I decline to chase a tennis ball and instead just sit and watch for a while then go back to the patio and lay down watching the world go by instead which is much more interesting in my book!

Dad took us outside one morning and the boys again vied with each other to show off their newly acquired skills while I disdainfully looked on.

I looked up at Dad when he sat down for a rest " What's sooooo interesting in a tennis ball Dad?"  my expression asked him as I gazed curiously up at him.

" Ellie, It's like a Show and Tell .... they just want to show me something they are interested in"

My ears pricked up at that.... Show and Tell? Now why did you not say that!  Makes a whole lot more sense now.

At that moment our local family of ducks waddled past quacking loudly which I love to watch.

Then I had a light bulb moment go off in my head! And trotted off.

Afterwards Dad said he nearly had a heart attack when he looked up and saw me trotting down the drive towards him with my tail swishing happily and a silly grin on my face, carefully carrying an equally surprised fluffy duckling who was gazing at Dad emitting a little quack now and again before leaning back to stare in my face !!

Now THIS is Show and Tell !!

"Ellie !!!" He called out as he scrambled to his feet " Put that duckling back!!"

Oh-Oh...... I carefully lowered the duckling onto his feet and gave him a regretful nudge with my nose and watched him give himself a little shake before waddling off as fast as his little legs could carry him quacking loudly.  Momma Duck was waiting patiently at the end of the drive with the rest of her brood completely unfazed as she knew I had no intention of hurting her borrowed baby!

I have not often seen Dad lost for words but this was one time he was !!

I glanced at the boys as I trotted past on my way back to the porch.... Tennis Balls pah

I am way out of your league LOL !!

Now folks..no ducklings were injured in the making of this blog... I am part lab so have an incredibly soft mouth...DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS !!

Oh No! Not Another Kitty!

They have done it again!!  Seriously my parents are not safe let out on their own......I can handle Tuck and Harley being rescued, but a kitten? Seriously??

It started with Dad going with Mom to check on the truck he was buying from his friends  garage. I was left at home babysitting the boys ( SIGH)
As they walked towards the new truck a little ginger kitten walked up to them as bold as brass miaowing loudly and insistently. He had a couple of his sisters in tow who were timid and held back. Mom said hello to him and then ignored him as she and dad walked around the truck. This kitten did not give up and followed them everywhere staring intently into their eyes as he talked to them. The garage owner explained that he was one of the feral cats that lived under an adjacent building and that they were considered a nuisance and often ended up being poisoned. He had tried to catch kittens and re-home them with limited success. Dad took one look at Mom and stated "NO!" firmly. If I had been there I would have backed Dad up whole heartedly. Mom however just nodded her acceptance and bent down to say goodbye to the little guy, who was still following her everywhere and talking loudly to her, and wished him good luck. Then she climbed in the car with Dad and they drove away. 5 minutes later Dad got a phone call from the garage owner. He had said to Gus that if he caught the ginger kitten to give him a call ( without Mom hearing) Apparently they put the cat trap down and the kitten had launched himself into it!

And so my life was turned upside down by their return home carrying a cage with a hissing, spitting, ginger lion cub. The hair on his tail stood out so much he resembled a toilet brush! Though thinking about it now it could have been the result of having 3 interested dogs sniffing the cage!!

Mom and Dad prepared themselves for the long road for this little guy to become tame....It took all of 20 minutes!

Dad wrapped him in a towel and took him out of the cage and held him against his chest so he could feel his heart beat...5 minutes later he was lying there contentedly purring madly.

We all gave him a sniff then lost interest and went back to our own comfy beds.

The kitten was bedded down in a cardboard box and fell fast asleep.

I was blissfully dreaming in my bed when something woke me up....bleary eyed I looked around and nearly had a heart attack! I had given birth to a puppy!!  Hang on..that is not a puppy...that's...that's......OMG !! The cheek of it... the kitten had decided to share my bed with me!  Oh no,no,no.. not on your life young man! Mom came out of the bathroom to find me standing by her chair looking at her and then back at my bed in which an certain ginger young man had by now wriggled into the middle on my bed and lay on his back sleeping. " Mother... MOTHER!.. remove IT now please!!" I spluttered indignantly.
Mom lifted him out and I quickly got back into bed and made sure there were no gaps for him to sneak into!
Kitten was put back to bed... but 5 minutes later Mom found him lying back to back with Tuck in Tucks bed which given the size of Tuck was not the safest place to be. However before Mom could remove him Tuck woke up and realized he had a bed guest and obligingly got up, turned around and re-settled himself so that the kitten could sleep safely between his feet.

The following day The kitten discovered Harley was long coated and thus wonderful to snuggle into. Poor Harley would fall  asleep and wake up with this feral kitten between his front legs or cuddled  into his belly but from that moment on their  bond was sealed. They play together, they sleep together, they check that each is okay and give each other little kisses when they greet each other. If Harley is crated as part of his training then the kitten will be found either lying on top of the crate or by its door keeping him company. When Harley was shut into a bedroom while workmen were in the house the kitten was found lying with his leg under the door gap resting his paw on Harleys as if giving him comfort.
Who  would have thought two feral animals would have bonded like this...the world is a magical place at times.

I love their bonding with each other as it takes the heat off Tuck and I who watch their antics with amusement from the safety of our beds.

The kitten has been named Simba but only answers to Sim-Sim, so not only has he chosen his new Mom and Dad but also his own name lol

Despite Dad authorising his rescue Sim-Sim has adopted Mom as his human and will only sit on 'her' lap. Often Harley sits on the both of them to be included and its quite amusing to see him lying on Moms lap with a gold tail sticking out from beneath him followed by a reversing kitten who is  trying to wriggle out from underneath.!

The week after Sim-Sim came to live with us Dad and Mom drove a friend back to the garage to pick up his car and looked to see how  the other kittens were doing. Gus shocked them when he told them that the very night they brought SIm-Sim home , someone laid poison down and he found all the kitten dead the next day. It was almost as if young Simba at 6 weeks of age knew he was begging for his life that day.

Tuck and I are now glad that at least 2 feral souls are now in a safe place.

Ellie's family rocks!

And along came Harley. If you remember Mom and Dad set off to find me a puppy companion and came home with huge 8 year old Tuck who towers over me. We get along famously as I quickly realized just how easy going Tuck is and that he is quite happy to let me be boss. One day Dad came home and while we all sat on the porch he told us about his day at work.

All of our ears pricked up when he told us about a feral 'cane' puppy that had been following him around one of the villages he manages. Now a cane dog can be an abandoned dog dumped in the sugar cane fields to fend for itself in the wild or a dog that has been born and raised in the fields and is basically feral. To harvest the cane, however, the fields of cane is set on fire and burnt to the ground with the inevitable loss of life of many of its inhabitants.

At that time of the year packs of surviving dogs are often seen in villages scavenging for scraps of food yet too terrified to allow people to get near enough to help them. Some will sadly be hit by cars too as they run blindly across roads. Anyway back to this puppy... Dad had noticed him emerging from the neighbouring cane fields when he and his crew were working on residents homes, for about a week now and the pup was gradually getting bolder and coming up for a stroke then following them for the rest of the day before disappearing back into the fields.

Dad had asked residents if they knew anything about him but they said he was just a cane dog who they threw scraps to as he was so very thin his ribs and backbone were the first things you noticed about him followed by his now wagging tail. It was coming up to burning time for the pups field so Dad and Mom decided to try and save at least this dog. He was happy being stroked so we knew Dad would have a chance of catching him, it was just a case of picking the right moment. Imagine our surprise when the next morning Dad pulled up and came into our house with his arms full of a hairy yet calm puppy whose tail was wagging furiously when he saw us all!

He was so thin that for a moment I considered donating my dinner to him but then I pulled myself together!! And that is how Tuck, Spook and I became Auntie and Uncles to young Harley. I wont say fur brother as we have all had to teach him to respect his elders! Poor Spook in particular suffered being playfully donked by Harleys nose until he finally snapped and boxed his ears for him! Tuck used to patiently walk around with Harleys huge front paws draped around his neck in a bear hug. Harley did think he could do that to me too but I only had to bear my teeth once for him to realise that Uncle Tuck was his best bet for rides.

Harley is black, tan and white and looked to be a long haired shepherd x.....as he has grown he looks mainly Australian Shepherd but with an undocked tail which is ridiculously plumy and does not stop wagging! Mainly across my face! Dad made the mistake on day he brought him home of throwing a balled up pair of socks for him to fetch, which he caught on doing very quickly which impressed Dad no end.......... Mom however is not so impressed as from that moment on Harley thinks all socks are his and as she gathers up washing and sorts into the baskets a panic stricken Harley liberates his sock friends from the basket and hides them !!

Harley has filled out nicely now and has settled in as a family member but he still has the call of the wild in him and sniffs the air rolling across the cane fields. He loves to run and if see's a door open will barge thru it and run around our neighbours gardens and along our private road blissfully ignoring Dad;s calls to come back. Mom catches him by turning on the reversing horn of the golf cart and within seconds Harley has landed in the seat next to her eager for the expected walk this horn usually signals! Daft thing falls for this ploy every time!

Then he and Mom have to ride around the village to find Dad who is still searching for Harley! To the bystander it looks as if its Dad who has got lost and not Harley lol Mom has worked on recall down in the field and clipped Harleys lead to Tucks so that Tuck brought him back with him when called until Harley finally figured out the commands. Now however he runs free off the lead with Tuck searching for bunnies. Disgusting little oik sometimes dives into the undergrowth and returns proudly carrying a long dead shrivelled rabbit or toad which for some strange reason he thinks Mom wants to inspect! Urgh!

That's our Harley!

Oops........ a blonde moment !

As I have probably mentioned before, when we go out for long walks down to the field, Mom uses a golf cart as she cannot walk far these days.
The boys and I trot down by her side and once on the field we can run free and go about our business, so to speak. The boys love to gallop about madly and look for bunnies while I prefer to amble along enjoying the scents of all wonderful things that appeal to us dogs, so our routine is Mom follows the boys in the golf cart and makes sure they keep out of trouble and the canal right at the end ( it's a boy thing !) then she comes back with them and meets me halfway as I trot along swishing my tail happily.

Well a couple of weeks ago, we stopped by the gardens and chatted with a retired sugar cane worker about what exotic fruits and vegetables he is growing ( she is English so lots of our things are literally foreign to her !) I stopped politely too but after a few minutes decided to go and check out my favourite tree so left Mom chatting and ambled off . A few minutes passed so I quickly checked to see if the golfcart was still in sight...Yep, it was so carried on with my inspection of every blade of grass around my tree.
Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I saw the golf cart whizzing across the field in a completely different direction heading towards the goats field!  Oh Nooo...surely it was not another case of the mutant bunnies!! I set off in hot pursuit with my legs pounding furiously as I tried to catch up. I could hear Mom calling me so knew she needed me with her.
"Mom!...wait for me, Mom!" I barked as I ran after the cart which then turned in another direction then back again zig-zagging across the field and then finally pulled up next to another golf cart.
"That was too fast Mommy!" I puffed as I drew level and came face to face with a very bemused sugar cane worker !
"What the!..." I turned and did a double take when I met Moms amused face as she sat in the other golf cart...... The penny dropped as I realised I had been following the wrong one and Mom's voice had been trying to call me back! And the zig-zagging had been Mr.Jessie trying to shake me off before deciding he better lead me back to Mom.... I pulled my comical grin face as I sheepishly glanced from one laughing face to the other!
We collected the boys who were completely unaware of my faux pas, though Tuck was surprised when I insisted in riding in the golf cart all the way home as by then my legs felt very tired lol
Mommy said she was not surprised I was so worn out as Mr. Jessie's golf cart was gas powered and can go a lot faster than ours !  ....... No Kidding !!
To this day I have never told them about my little mistake, nor has Mom though she did tell Daddy who found it highly amusing. Hey I am blonde so am allowed occasional blonde moments !
You can be sure that on every walk since I have kept a careful watch of MY golf cart lol

Mutant Bunnies!

Well we have just returned from our walk and saw lots of bunnies which excited the boys and then went to have a chat with the goats in the neighbouring field, which excites me!

My mind returned to a walk Tuck and I went on not so long ago, which I would love to share with you all.....

As soon as Tuck is off his lead he rushes off nose to the ground trying to pick up a scent for a bunnie trail and soon disappears in and out of the bushes. He picks up the scent quickly enough but once he flushes them out he cannot make up his mind which one to chase and loses every bunnie in the area!

Being a lady I like to take my time over my ablutions and using the bathroom, so I tend to catch  up with Mom and Tuck later on.

Well there I was strolling along , nose in the air enjoying the scented breeze rolling across the cane fields, tail swishing from side to side,, when I heard Mom shout "Tuck! That is not a bunnie!" and just as I rounded the corner I was bowled off my feet -literally- by a fleeing beast with long ears and horns which was being closely followed by a triumphant Tuck!

Mom says my expression was "What The Heck!!??" followed by 'Hang on..That is NOT a Bunnie!!'

I changed direction and glanced over at Mom as I volunteered to go get Tuck and then trotted off after him and gave him a few sharp barks as he and the monster stood gazing at each other.

" I have found a Mutant Bunnie!" puffed Tuck proudly

" No Tuck..you have found a goat!! How the heck you flushed a goat out of a rabbit warren I have no idea but that is definitely a goat! I replied knowingly.

'It is?" Tuck was despondent and his bottom lip quivered ( mainly cos he has no teeth but he uses it to good effect to those who do not know this fact ) " But I am not allowed to chase goats!"

I gave him a consoling nudge " don't worry " we will leave it here and go back to Mom"

Mom decided to put Tuck back on his lead for the rest of the walk and told us that we were going to have to find the goats owner and let him know one of his goats had got out of its field.

The only dodgy part of this plan was that we forgot that Mr.Goatman uses his golf cart to bring the goats their feed each day so when we passed the escaped goat we suddenly heard a clip clopping on the road behind us and as one we all turned to find the goat trotting along behind us with its long ears flopping up and down.

"Are you sure it is not a Mutant Bunnie?" whispered Tuck fearfully : It has awfully long ears and it sounds hungry enough to eat us!"

"Of course I am sure! Now hurry up its gaining on us!" I hissed back

Luckily Mr.Goatman was in and soon captured his goat allowing us to finish our walk in peace although I refused to let Tuck look in any bushes just in case!

Hmmmmph...Brothers !!

I'm back!

Hello everyone,

There has been quite a lapse since my last post for which I apologise deeply.

Life has been very hectic and stressful recently with my beloved Daddy falling ill and having

to be hospitalized.

Mom was travelling 100 miles round trip everyday to see him so would get home exhausted.

I helped out as much as I could by babysitting Tuck, Spook and young Harley and keeping them

out of trouble, rubbish bins and dog food containers!!  Honestly boys can be so naughty!  Every time

they got the lid off I had to rush in and clear up the bits they dropped ( yum ) then stand guard until

Mom got home and re fixed the lid... phew.

Every night after dinner and a stroll around the village the boys would flop down into their beds

and Mom and I would cuddle up and she would tell me all the latest news about Daddy. I would

try and comfort her as best I could .... I did suggest ice-cream ... but Mom said no cos the boys

would wake up..I did say I could sort them but she said no nipping after 6pm rule applies grrr

Anyway Daddy is home now and Mom had to pop over to the UK so I looked after Daddy for her.

I was going to spend time writing my blog with him but oh my goodness, the amount of tea

breaks he  called for made me lose my train of thought..I am an ARTISTE I cannot have my

creative juices interrupted by a yell of 'TEA BREAK' followed by a dash to the fridge ! ( he  is not

allow beer at the moment so I guess drinking more tea is his way of coping )

Incidently I never knew Budweiser made tea but Daddy swears they do and it tastes

lovely..hmmmm

Luckily Mom is back and so i can resume sharing my doggy tales with you  . Mind you she just

read about Daddys tea breaks and has text two words to him YOU'RE RUMBLED!!'

Oh dear ..something I said? :P

Much love and waggles,

Ellie xx

Thank you!

For all of the amazing people who rescue dogs every day!

The Reason (to you from all your rescue dogs)

I would've died that day if not for you.
I would've given up on life if not for your kind eyes.
I would've used my teeth in fear if not for your gentle hands.
I would have left this life believing that all humans don't care
Believing there is no such thing as fur that isn't matted
skin that isn't flea bitten
good food and enough of it
beds to sleep on
someone to love me
to show me I deserve love just because I exist.
Your kind eyes, your loving smile, your gentle hands
Your big heart saved me...

You saved me from the terror of the pound,
Soothing away the memories of my old life.
You have taught me what it means to be loved.
I have seen you do the same for other dogs like me.
I have heard you ask yourself in times of despair
Why you do it
When there is no more money, no more room, no more homes
You open your heart a little bigger, stretch the money a little tighter
Make just a little more room...to save one more like me.
I tell you with the gratitude and love that shines in my eyes
In the best way I know how
Reminding you why you go on trying.

I am the reason
The dogs before me are the reason
As are the ones who come after.
Our lives would've been wasted, our love never given
We would die if not for your huge hearts.

With love, gratitude and waggles,

Ellie & Tuck xx

Bear dog who is now with the Angels

Thank you for being you. xx

Love Chinese food!

Yesterday was a fantastic day !!

Dad brought home a Chinese Meal in those little boxes and some chopsticks.

The aroma was mouthwateringly good......................hey I am a girl who loves her food (and everyone elses muttered Mom under her breath!)

Mom has Parkinsons....well she is awesome with rice using a fork but with choptsticks.... well I worked out how this was going to go and readied myself for clean up duty....Poor Tuck is new to this and a bit slow in the catching department...He was so surprised to find himself pebble-dashed with rice!!

I am very helpful and help tidy up the mess....I did attempt preventative measures but Mom snatched the egg roll and insisted she could manage that - thank you very much lol Lo Mein...I adore lo mein.............Tuck and I re enacted the scene from Lady and the Tramp using dropped noodles instead of spaghetti...I can suck up noodles quicker than him ! What a fab meal.....

OMG...Jello for pudding !! She will never manage that without my help !!! (Dad can be cruel eh lol - I love your slip ups Dad !!)

Tuck is settling in just fine.

Well Tuck is settling in nicely though he does have some funny ways which I suppose are legacies of his past life experiences.

I was worried that he would try to muscle in and be a Daddy's Boy and push me out but in fact the opposite has happened.

He has latched onto Mom and become her shadow...she cannot even get up and go to the bathroom without him escorting her there and back!

Although he seems to trust Dad any other men seem to terrify him and he keeps well away from them.

At first we were all greatly amused by his habit of walking into a room but then reversing out, carefully looking over his shoulder.. All that was missing was the 'beep-beep-beep' warning hooter!

However it is probable he was kept in a crate too narrow for him to turn round in so he does not know that he can here.. Mom and Dad walk him in circles - decreasing the size gradually to train his muscles to bend and then get him to turn around in our living room, though he still reverses out of bedroom..even from the other side of the bed as well as the kitchen and bathroom so will take some time to teach him I suppose. In the meantime Spook sits on the dresser watching this strange dog reverse past lol

We have also found that all of Tucks teeth other than his canines and very back teeth have been pulled out.. one of the cane workers says this is an old trick used on fighting dogs so when in a fight they dig in with those canines easier.

Tuck is a lab x.... the cross bit looks like a Cane Corso which is an Italian Mastiff... he certainly has a head the size and shape of a mastiff..However he is as soft as better in temperament so whatever his previous owners did to him he does not hold against folk other than be wary of men.

That's the thing about RESCUE DOGS...WE ARE VERY FORGIVING though have our hang ups and scars.

Also if anyone shouts he hits the deck cowering... even though it is only a neighbour calling across to someone else.

I have taken him under my wing even though he towers over me.. I feel sorry for this great lump who obviously has seen things that have frightened him, yet is so eager for love and obviously adores Mom....If he loves Mom then he is alright with me ! I even let Dad cuddle him so he learns that not all men are bad and scary. No dog should be made to feel that fear.

Tuck loves Spook and everyday goes to check he is okay and if not in on dresser searches in the wardrobe for him as he snoozes there too ! Spook is not a people friendly cat.. he prefers to observe from a distance... He is nearly 18 now and set in his ways so will never be a lap cat much to Mom's disappointment! Anyway Tuck and Spook are friends and greet each other with a nose rub. Yuck ! the only contact I have with Spook is when I kick him while Mom is not looking !! ( ahem.....SSsshhhhhhhhhh this is our little secret..right?)

Right it is time for our walk.. yippee !

Much love and waggles

And along came Tuck!

Greetings and silly smiles All !,

Well it has been a busy couple of weeks for the Parents, searching online for a  suitable rescue companion for me and searching Shelters...

Last weekend they went to Peggy Adams as saw on their website a couple of six month old pups that seemed hopeful...

They had read out the descriptions to me and when they left I felt excited at having a pup around to help bring up and have for company.

This was their 2nd visit to this shelter, unfortunately the dog they went to  see was not suitable for  us. So paws crossed for this time..

This is how their visit went :

They drove to West Palm Beach and after parking, walked through the kennels seeing how the various occupants acted.

They saw the 2 pups and put them down on a 2nd meeting list though had reservations about 1 who was terribly nervous and would not make eye contact with  them at all.

Then to kill time before they could go through to main hall and book in to see an adopter consultant they walked through again looking at the adult dogs.... Some were lovely but not right for me so they were not added to    the   list... Dad chatted to all of them as he passed and most of them responded by stopping barking or jumping up to be petted.

A cute Beagle rolled over wanting his belly rubbed, a pitbull wanted her ears fondled. A large white American bulldog immediately sat down when Dad commanded and waited for his next instruction!

All gorgeous dogs but not right for me to bond with.

One... a huge black lab x did not stop barking however and sounded like a vicious guard dog!

"That's a No!" laughed Dad to Mom as they moved on to the next kennel.

Finally they went in and after a long wait met with an adopter consultant and showed her   our   preferences and described me and my temperament so as to find the best match.

They had the 2 pups brought to the office for a one on one meet... Sadly one had been returned to the shelter as was a non stop barker... this was no good where we live. The 2nd pup was the nervous one and again she did not make eye contact and was too nervous for us. We were simply the wrong people for these particular dogs.

Then the consultant asked if they would consider meeting Tucker.  He was so laid back amongst other dogs they could jump on him and he would not retaliate. That was a huge selling point given my bossiness!

Then Mom remembered that she had seen a video of Tucker on the website    loose with other dogs who he ignored even when they launched themselves at him... It was at that point Dad and she       twigged that Tucker was the huge black lab x that barked at Dad and had been deemed a NO !

The girl laughed and said although he was a bit of a jerk in the kennel he was the softest natured dog and so they agreed to meet him.

They were bowled over by the sheer size of him! Then by his gentleness in taking treats from their hands and his friendly but respectful greeting.

He had been rescued weighing a pitiful 35lbs and almost bald.... they had got him back up to 60lbs and his hair was almost grown back.. a bit sparse in places but growing. He needed more weight put on him as should be around 100lbs. He was so gentle though. Mom and Dad spent some time with him and noted how he ignored other dogs walking past and just waited in office with them placidly. Another selling point was that he was house trained apparently... However just after the consultant told them this , she left the room for a few minutes and Tucker immediately cocked his leg over the waste paper bin much to Dads amusement!

Mom and Dad had a chat and decided that Tucker was the right dog for us even though he was 8 years old and not a puppy his lack of Alpha tendencies and his being a sensible senior won them over.

Dad took Tucker out to the shop to get him fitted for a collar while Mom finished the paperwork. She then stepped out of the office to find a huge pool of pee being mopped up.... "Tucker' confirmed Dad..... Oh Boy !!

Tucker jumped into our truck with delight and peered through the windows happily for the journey home.

Dad came and collected me from our house and put me on a lead for a walk and imagine my surprise at finding Mom holding a huge black dog on a lead.. we gave each other a quick sniff then set off on a walk together, ambling along contentedly I did wonder where they had got him from and who he belonged to but hey a walk is a walk!

When we got back to our porch Spook was peering out.... Tucker walked up and peered at him then at Mom as if to say " Cool..I see you have a cat!' then walked off sniffing round the grille.

It was as Dad led both Tucker and I into our house that the penny dropped....

My mouth opened and closed as I tried to find the words..... finally.." A puppy.. you said a puppy! Instead you bring me a small pony!  Father.. I need to explain to you what a puppy is!!

Then as Tucker waited politely for me to sit in my chosen spot by Dad before sitting down by the sofa I realised that he was not going to challenge me for Alpha... he was happy to let me be Queen Bee..... hmm... this may just work after all.... and just think... no having to potty train a puppy!

What do you mean Tucker wee'ed over a garbish bin!!!   Oh Boy....!

Much love and Waggles

Missing Bear Dog

Life just is not the same without  Bear Dog. It has been a few weeks now and it is not getting any easier.

Even Spook the cat misses him, even though he won't admit it.. He just goes and stares at the spot where Bears bed was.

Much as I adore Mom and Dad, I have got used to having a doggy brother around and having someone around when they go out.

I  cuddle up to  Mom and Dad as much as I can for mutual comforting.

I walk with Mom down to Bears resting place by the cypress tree and we tell him about our day etc

I try to be brave when they go out as I remember Bear teaching me that there was nothing to be afraid of. Much easier when he was with me !

I am exuberant when they come home and nearly knock them over in my delight!

I heard Mom and Dad talking about maybe adopting a companion for me. A rescue dog of course.

They know how I loved that kitten so are considering a pup or young dog as I am very much an Alpha female and I  don't let other dogs into my house if I can help it. When I arrived it was Bears house and he was so laid back he  let me be bossy until I felt safe though had no problem correcting me when I pushed my luck too far   !!

They know I am much more tolerant of babies so hopefully this emptiness inside me will be filled soon.

They are off this weekend visiting shelters to see if they can spot a suitable companion for me.

Paws crossed !

R.I.P Bear Dog

I have very sad news today....

When we all woke up this morning, my foster brother Bear didn't.... Dad says the Angels had come down to collect him in the night and take him over the Rainbow Bridge to the meadow beyond where he can gamble about without being in pain anymore.

Spook and I ran out of   the bedroom as we could not bear to be in there.

Daddy has taken Bear down to his favorite  field and buried him under the beautiful old cypress tree by the side of Bear's favorite canal. Anytime Bear took himself off for a walk this is where Daddy would find him. So this is the right place for him to be.

Mom is still in the UK and Dad did not know how to tell her as he was so upset. Eventually he did thank goodness.
The house seems empty without Bear Dog already.. I am trying to comfort Dad as best I can by giving him my paw.

Bear was saved by Daddy and was his best friend for 4 years.. He was 14 years old when he felt he had to leave us.

Bear Dog loved everyone and welcomed them into his life..He had such a huge heart and kind face with the most comical eyebrows that he used to waggle at Mom if she was eating ice-cream... He has left us so many wonderful memories that make us smile...

Rest In Peace my brother and thank you for helping me and being my friend Bear as well as my brother.
I promise to look after Daddy as best I can...

Mom is away !!

Mom has gone back to the UK for a visit and so Bear, Spook and I have to look after Dad.

This involves making sure he gets up in the morning after 3rd snooze button on his annoying alarm clock is hit... I have found sticking my cold wet nose under the covers and repeatedly donking warm skin helps !

Spook attacks from above by meowing repeatedly in Dad's ear while Bear clicks his nails on the tiled floor! Dad tries to resist but eventually caves in and gets up.... wow he knows a lot of rude words ! I have to remind him I am a lady  and my ears are delicate !!

However we remain calm when he can't find his car keys or cigarette lighter and frantically searches for them... and grin encouragingly when he finally does....... ' there, we had every faith in you Dad"

Finally he is out of the door and we all let out a collective sigh of relief and flop down exhausted!

We think he misses Mom an awful lot... he talks to the tv thingy on his desk each night as if she was really here in the room... we all glance at each other and shake our heads...yup he obviously misses Mom !

Johnny comes over to let us out while Dad is at work but it really is not the  same as having Mom around all day. However Bear takes it all in his stride so if he is not worried then nor should I be. I do not feel the need to eat doors anymore!

Oh well time for a snooze in a comfy armchair...ooops did i say that out loud?!

Before and After Pics - You must see!

Hi All,

This is just a quick post.

I love the following site showing before and after adoption pics...
http://www.reddit.com/r/BeforeNAfterAdoption/

Think that your actions in picking up a dog from shelter and transporting it / fostering for a while / supporting charities/ dropping a  quarter in a collection box or any of the hundreds of ways Animal Matters and other charities can be supported does not make a huge difference?

Look at these photos......and think again lol   These pics are only possible because of the support from people like you!

Thank You Thank You Thank You

I am going to be Adopted !!

Flashback to 2014

"Dear Auntie Melissa and Uncle Scott,

Jan and Franklin have just told me they are going to be my Mum and Dad !!! ( even though I had already decided that !)

A MUM AND DAD OF MY OWN !!

I am so pleased, my tail was wagging furiously as they hugged me and told me the news and I am grinning ear to ear like as Cheshire Cat , the big old softy that I am.

Bear Dog is very happy about this arrangement as he says that makes me his sister and not a house guest  and therefore he does not have to be polite when I try to grab his food......hmmm had better watch my manners there as I have found its no good trying to bite him as all I get is a mouthful of black fur that takes me days to pick out of my teeth and worst of all a scolding from Mum and Dad meaning I have to put on my apologetic face while surreptitiously spitting out black fur!

Spooks reaction was a snooty ' okay you have not tried to hurt me and your presence here had diverted that human who calls herself Mum from trying to make me people friendly so I suppose I will have to keep you, as you have your uses!'   I am translating that as a 'Welcome to the family"

Hmmm  Have been told that Michael comes as part of the package as is Dads friend and 'adopted' son who he looks out for so I guess I had better be nice to him and get used to receiving pigs feet as  a gift !...sigh....

Dont forget that I will always be your niece and will send you pictures of  me enjoying my new life, and I will love it when you come to visit me ( no pigs feet please!)

I am a happy girl here with my new family, they understand me and that I have a past that may affect my behaviour at times but they say they love me unconditionally and will help me, so I am a very lucky girlie.
I am okay being left when they go out as I have Bear Dog who has taught me there is  nothing to worry about and to just chill and have a nap..plus as he pointed out when they are gone there are comfy armchairs just begging to be sat on! oops did I just say that out loud? lol

Auntie Melissa and Uncle Scott,I thank you from the bottom of my soul for saving me and giving  me a family to  love and protect, please please keep doing the fantastic work you do and save another sad victim from the fate I was heading for through no fault of my own.  Mummy and Dad said they will do all they can to help whether its to go pick up a dog or to emergency foster one temporarily.

OMG I am soooooooo Happy !!!!   My own family !!!

Lots of love and sloppy kisses

Pigs Trotters

Flashback to 2014:

I am not a morning person lol.... Foster Daddy gets up and there is no response me other than a
surreptitious peep from half open eyelids!....I love a lie   in with foster mom....

I accidently got up early the other day and found foster dad asking me to go sit on the porch with him while he drank his coffee..well I decided to be generous and sat outside with him yawning now and again as a hint to go back inside...well it was 5am!!

You can imagine my horror when I saw him touch my leash..so fixed him with my sternest glare as if to say " If this is Take Your Dog to Work Day  I will never forgive you!"  Luckily he was only moving my leash to get to his car keys.....phew lucky escape there!

Foster Dad is my man tho... once I hear him pulling up outside I am ecstatic and rush to  meet him and from that point on   I am never more than 3 feet away from him.He walks outside and shuts the screen door behind him.. To     Bear that means stay put... Not me however.. MyDad  went thru the door so I can too and blithely barge through it   to get to him lol

Foster Dad recently had to sort out a young man  playing music so loudly it was as if the whole village was a concert    arena - windows  shook  lol  of course I insisted on accompanying him !  mom calls me Deputy Sheriff Ellie!
The kid came  round to our house after to apologise and I met him at the door checking out his manners first ! I then took up position infront of Foster Dad as protector.
No one can walk up to him or mom quickly.. I just wont let them come close....they tell them to keep their distance while we chat so I can pick up on the relaxed tone of our voices. I am happiest with    just Franklin and mom around.. she gets nervous with several people looming over her so we tell them to give her space.

I feel completely relaxed around Johnny and allows Mike in unless he walks quickly over to Franklin then I intercept, however he came to our cookout yesterday armed with a stuffed pigs foot treat for both Bear and myself.. Bear held his     in his mouth all afternoon proudly showing it off while I politely held it for a short while then looked at Mike as if to say ' This is your BEST chat up line ?? You bring a lady a pigs trotter!!!  Oh Boy....!' then put it down and helped Franklin cook instead lol However I remained relaxed  around Mike as long as he did not try to pass a  beer to Franklin too quickly lol.

Pigs Trotters indeed grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My letter from when I'm newly-adopted

Hi Melissa, Hi Scott,

I am settling down really well.. I helped foster mom hang out the washing today, when I see's
anyone walking across the yards I stand stock still a little way in front of her as if to say.. 'no further pal... these are my people'. I accompany her off lead very well. though did have a minor discretion when I saw one of Johnnies cats and decided to chase him up a tree.. I was not trying to catch him just lumbered after him enjoying making him run lol ... When I heard foster mom's voice I slunk back to her very apologetically tho not before diverting to Johnnies porch and gulping down some cat food!! ( Hey a girl has to eat !! I leave Spookie cat alone at home.. we sniff each other and he lets me sniff him all over before he walks away... if I try to barge thru a door he is sitting next to he hisses which freaks me as I think he has an air leak! So I turn tail and go back to the armchair lol

Mom say I have a funny trick of blocking her if I do not want her to go somewhere... if I am on her left hand side I curl round her left leg and sticks my right leg out to block her so then she automatically go to her right and so I do it from the right using my left leg.. all the time I am pulling a' silly stroke me face' and tail wagging energetically. I also use this trick if we are walking across grass and I can see foster mom is rather 'wobby'_ I quickly use my body to guide her back to shorter grass where there is less chance of her falling. Foster Mom says I am a very clever girl which makes me smile and feel good.

When I greet my people in the morning there is nothing I like more than to be given a bear hug.. I loves the feel of their arms around me giving me a hug and pat.

One thing Mom and Dad have noticed is I do not like people approaching Foster Dad in his chair even in the house.. I growl at them to say 'no nearer' ... though let foster Mom walk right up and hug him without a murmur .... Last night SHE sat on the floor in MY place by his side and I gave her plenty of disapproving glares and then moved myself to other side of room and flopped down in a sulk- huffing noisily....They said that it had to be done to teach me that I does not own him or the favorite place to sit... I did forgive her though eventually lol They have adopted the trick of, when their friends come into the house they throw me a doggy treat from the bag by the door so I associate them coming in with something nice.If no treat is thrown I know I need to be on my guard and watch them closely.

Foster Mom says I am a complete 'Daddys Girl' I absolutely adores Franklin.. he can rest his feet on me and I lap it up... the pictures of me by our car was me rushing to greet him when he came home from work and the pictures by side of house with the air conditioning unit was me insisting on helping him fix the water outlet hose for their washing machine.. I have to be in the middle of it ! the other pic of me with Foster Dad bending over me was me walking up to him tail wagging like mad and a silly grin on my face !

I am mom's shadow during the day time but daddy's s girl at night time lol If he goes to bed early I go with him, he gets up early and I follow him everywhere until mom gets up then I take her back to bed and look after her for daddy.

Foster Mom says I am an absolute delight , so full of love.. its a joy working with me and getting to know me.they.can only guess whats happened to me in the past.... one thing I do not like is a lot of people round us .. makes me very nervous so they wonder if I was mistreated by a gang... however they will never know so are just working with me helping me overcome this problem so I can enjoy life to the full. As you can tell they absolutely adore me!. Mom just looked down as felt warmth on her lap and have Bears head one side and mine the other resting on her lap for a stroke... she says a moment like this is.priceless !

 Goodnight for now guys,
 Best WIshes and waggles

Mom updates Auntie Melissa and Uncle Scott

Hi All,

I adore being here with Foster Mom and Dad and love writing to Auntie Melissa and Uncle Scott letting them know how much I am enjoying life again. They have changed my life completely.

However, I would like to remind any of you who are wondering whether to welcome a new friend into their lives that adopting a cat or dog can change your lives for the better too!  Take my foster mom for example..she is not in 100% health and cannot work anymore or do much as mobility has been affected: however she welcomed me into their home and she says she feels useful again and that she has made a difference  and has reason to walk each day when we potter along together with Bear exploring the village. It does not matter to us when she has to sit for a rest. We just sit patiently with her and enjoy taking in our surroundings and wonderful sounds and smells. We are all friends just enjoying each others company.

Foster Mom likes keeping Auntie Melissa up to date with my ' antics' hmmmmph !! )and emails regularly as she understands that to Auntie Melissa and Uncle Scott it is hard to rescue a dog then hand over and never see or hear about again.

Here is an example of her emails:

______________________________________________________________________________

Hi Melissa,

Nellie is coming on in leaps and bounds - literally - lol

She has progressed to dancing round Franklin doing bunny hops  with delight and has launched herself on him on   several occasions in her exuberance at greeting him home from work.

She remains calm greeting other people though which is  how  it should  be.

At 5pm she waits by door and looks at me... (this is the time he used to  get home but his promotion to being in charge or the maintenance crew  means he gets  home 5.40 to 6) she then insists   on waiting on porch with me sitting in the shade  never for one moment taking her eyes off  the roadway in where she knows he will appear from... Not until he pulls up and I give her the word go does she move however!

Franklin called her from the bathroom while  he  was having a bath and she rushed in, skidded    t o a halt when she    saw the bath, did an abrupt U turn   ( facial expression  was 'HELL NO!') and removed herself rather smartly then sat grinning sheepishly outside lol

Guess bath time is going to be fun !

One of Bears treats in his old doddery age is to have a spoonful of ice-cream if we have some, the look of delight on his face is priceless   lol

Well Nellie has watched curiously but one sniff and has turned her nose up... however she was so confused watching Bear's obvious enjoyment that  she asked for some too..tiny spoonful that she bit her teeth into and shuddered at the cold then an amazed expression came over her face and she was instantly converted.... not given often but more as a treat for Bear in his old age and a training lesson in pack order for Nellie.. spoonful for Mummy, Spoonful for Daddy, Spoonful for Bear and then spoonful for Nellie all said out loud.. its working as she patiently waits her turn looking at each of us in order then at Bear as if she accepts he comes next.( before this it was all me, me, me with Nellie and food)

She is happy Melissa, If I get up early in the morning when Franklin gets up so I can use bathroom, she waits then carefully guides me back to the bedroom, curling her body round me and pushing me gently through the door as if to say..'Not time yet Mum, we girls need our Beauty Sleep' then gives an apologetic look to Franklin who is sitting in the living room and flops down next to our bed by my side lol

God she Snores!!  and Snorts like a piggy lol Handy though as if Franklin says I am snoring  I quickly say no its Nellie lol Thought I had fooled him but now he looks at me and says funny that Nellie sounds like you when she snores so guess that backfired on me lol

Anyway enough for now, off to Johnnies to sit and chat while Nellie says hello to his cat Cinder who sits under his chair and hisses if she looms over him..she is good.. he hisses and she immediately backs off and sits facing the other way and then does not try to approach him again... Getting Johnnie to hold her lead and command her so she is comfortable with him if he has to come over if we are out longer than usual and take her and Bear out.... he will walk them over to his Porch then take them back and sit indoors watching tv with them for a while so they have company.... she loves him as when you dropped her off she was walked over to be introduced to him and picked up on his relaxed manner and accepted him as one of our pack instantly. Now she lies at his feet on his porch contentedly watching the world go by so we know she and Bear are sorted for any time we go out for the day together.

Hugs to you both

jannie

PS.. Nellie is an expert thief !!   Franklin and I had brought back a 'sub' sandwich each after shopping to save cooking late at night... I ate mine while he checked to water plant as alarm went off... and when he came back he had a beer and his 'sub' while watching tv...I was on computer when I suddenly heard........"NELLIE!!!....SHE STOLE MY SANDWICH!!" and rushed in... she had sat well away from him and watched while he ate the salad off the sandwich and put the meat and cheese bit on the arm of his chair while he put his drink down and was just aware of a flash of blonde passing him  and there was Nellie yards away again wolfing down his sandwich!!  Naughty girl as she had eaten her dinner up.. lol She was quick though lol

The kids leave their kitten out with me while they go to work as I said not fair to lock in a room all day and it will be better to socialise it with people , dogs and spook...  Nellie is a protective Auntie and dotes on him and watches with amusement when he pounces on Spooks tail who gives chase hissing at him lol.. However she was not so amused the other day when the kitten progressed from jumping off the seat of the chair to attempting the leap from the back of the armchair... his solution was to use a sleeping Nellie as a trampoline and merrily bounced off her as she dozed !!  Trouble was he has not learnt to retract his claws so Nellie got a rather rude awakening and jumped up in shock lol She went over to him and gave him a bit of a talking to nose to nose and then a push as if to say " you can pack that up young man!" One duly chastened kitten then climbed onto armchair seat and took a nap with Nellie sprawled on floor infront of him... Normal service resumed lol

Jan

Yes Foster Mom often dobs me in on one of my indiscretions lol is nothing safe!  However after seeing Auntie Melissa's replies I know she loves still being included in my life so hey ho !

Auntie Melissa's reply:
______________________________________________________________________________

Thank you for the fantastic update! I laugh so hard reading your emails. Really Jan, when are you going to have your writings published? You are a natural, gifted writer. Your craft must be shared with the world!!

xo.

______________________________________________________________________________

So I guess the message in this post is that rescuing a doggy or cat and bringing him or her into your life is not the end of your story.... everyone who was involved give so much of themselves to actually get us to the point that we can be adopted , that they will always wonder how their 'rescue' project is getting on and if their efforts have actually made a difference...... so please....take the time to send an update to the rescuers if you can, whether a charity or or an individual and let them know what a fantastic difference they have made to so     many people.. both dog/cat and new family. Their efforts have a wide spreading impact on many lives that they may not have even considered.

On behalf of 'the rescued' everywhere... Bear, Spook , Foster Dad and Mom and I.....Thank You.

You Save people as well as animals...

My brother Bear's story

My foster brother - Bear - has his own rescue story.

It is a short story but both saddened and angered foster Mom when she  heard so must be worth   telling....

My foster Dad (Uncle Franklin)  manages the apartments in 4 villages so travels around them daily and gets to know the tenants by stopping and chatting.

Well, one day he stopped to chat to Bear Dog who belonged to a tenant..he loved chatting to Bear who is a Black  Labrador X Chow and loves everyone!

Bear's owner came out and said this is the last time he would see Bear as he  was taking him to be put down the very next day!

Now Bear was 10 then, blind in one eye but happy as Larry...( I just asked Mom who Larry was but she tells me it is just a saying! pah!! humans are strange creatures lol)

Franklin asked why Bear was being put down and was shocked by   the answer. It was because he had accidently tripped his  owner's wife up.........Maybe she came up on his blind side so he did not see her in time?

Uncle Franklin was so disgusted he said " Oh no you are not, Bear is coming to live with   me!" opened  his truck door and said " Come on Bear " Bear loves car rides so did not need asking twice!!

That was 4 years ago and   Bear Dog and Uncle Franklin have been best buddy's ever since.

Thank goodness there are decent people in this world like Uncle Franklin,Aunt Melissa,Uncle Scott and Mom......

My wish is that every dog has a human in his/her life that rescues them from being destroyed/starved/abused and plays a part (however small it seems to them) in giving every dog living in fear/hunger/despair..HOPE. and a  SECOND CHANCE at life no matter how old they are.

Much love and waggles,

I have a kitten!

Flashback to April 2014

As you know Bear, Spook and I get on together really well. Mom just frowned at me when I dictated that....hmmmm...oh-oh must mean she caught me this morning slyly kicking the cat as I strolled past him!

Our lodgers unknown to us sneaked a kitten into their room and were only caught when we heard miaowing at 3am and found Spook hissing at their bedroom door. Turns out it was one of Johns kittens lol

Franklin told them they could no longer leave a kitten in their room while at work and to pop it into its cage and put it in with us so we can get it socialised to humans and dogs and cats. (Needless to say their girl kitten has turned out to be a little boy which explains why he refused to answer to the name Zafira LOL). Anyway I digress......

Well the putting it in the cage part must have fallen on deaf ears as I got up next morning, went to the bathroom with Mom and there was a kitten sitting on the toilet seat !! Both Bear and I carefully sniffed the kitten then left it alone! Mom told me not to sniff so hard or I might accidently suck the kitten up my nose!! I was so horrified I hastily backed away lol.

Bear dog was brought up with cats and loves them so they knew he would be no bother. I have found my nurturing instincts as Spook was not amused to have a kitten in his house and went up to it and hissed...to which, before I knew it I had got up and stood between them before sniffing the kitten to make sure it was okay then had a quiet nose to nose chat with Spook..

Now Spook and the kitten play chase with Bear and I watching but if anything gets out of hand I go and step in quietly between them and stop the kitten from bashing Spook too hard and him from hissing at it!

If they chase into my bedroom and are missing for a while I get up walk in makes sure all is okay then come back out and grins at Mom as if to say 'don't worry I have checked them!'

Mom says I am such a clever girl.. never ceases to surprise them....my tail wagged furiously at that!

And there endeth the latest installment lol.

best wishes and wagglles,

Ellie xx

Ellie's 2nd day in "foster"

Flashback to March 2014

Dear Auntie Melissa & Uncle Scott,

I have just returned from my morning walk with my new friend Bear and found Spook the Cat sitting in the window waiting for us so Auntie Jan took me up to the window and made me sit for a while until I got bored staring at him...he's good - he can outstare me and when I went up to say hello to him yesterday he did not back away...hmmmm I though cats were supposed to run!! Mind you he is rather large - looks as if he swallowed a small dog so best mind my P's n Q's around him ! When Auntie told me to leave him I was a good girl and walked straight back to my place next to the armchair where Uncle Franklin sits.

I went over and was introduced to Uncle Johnny the 5 purple heart war vet.. who loves me and invited me to sit on his porch and WOW !! he has 13 cats he looks after... Cinder the ginger one was in the window watching me but there was a cute kitten who decided to come over to see me but ran off when  I stood up.. I watched him go over to the neighbours garden and climb a tree but was on a loose lead after being told 'leave it' with a hand held up.. I kept watch though til he came back over to Johnny's safe and sound... I think I may  have had pups in the past as he brought out the Mother worrying about her kids in me.. I enjoyed watching the kittens play together.
Then we went home and I have secured the space next to and behind  Uncle Franklins armchair as 'my spot'  though also lie down near Bear as well to watch tv.

I have tried to tell Bear I am now Boss but Auntie told me that was incredibly bad manners and would not tolerate that behaviour so I suspect 'she' is the Boss here as she is the one who says no to me and then guides me back to good manners.. ah well as long as its a woman in charge I guess I can live with that lol
Last night Bear volunteered to sleep in the living room with me though I was put in that cage so that Spook could use his litter tray in peace.. and well I forgot myself and Howled !!   Uncle Franklin was in bed and when Jan checked he said he could not hear me.. so I howled louder for him... There was a "HELL NO!" but am unsure whether it was from Uncle Franklin or Spook the Cat !!!!

However Spook decided HE would sleep with Bear and I was to be let into their bedroom so that  they could all get some sleep, though Auntie Jan  was not amused to climb into bed after  her film finished and find me in her side with head on pillow snoring rapturously in time with Uncle Franklin.....lol.... I was relegated to the pillow on the floor by her side and I slept there all night and let them go the the bathroom unescorted during the night though wagged my tail in delight when they climbed back over me.

I have taken my pills like a good girl and am now lying down behind the computer chair while Auntie types ...

Oh yes I nearly forgot.. on last nights walk I saw BUNNIES !! I wanted to chase after them but Uncle Franklin said no he was not  chasing bunnies with me as would ruin his reputation...:(

I am having a lovely time here Auntie Melissa, lots of things to watch from our porch ... and I can tell Uncle Franklin and    Auntie Jan love me already .

I will write again with the next little adventure I    have , thank you so much for giving me a second chance at life Auntie Melissa and Uncle Scot...my tail wags now.

Much love, sloppy kisses and paw shakes

Nellie XX

P.S. Auntie Jan says she will write to you seperately
